The AIAS to Host More Video Game Professionals Than Ever Before
The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences® (AIAS) announced today that the D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, Entertain) Summit®
2008 has sold out after receiving a record-breaking number of
registration submissions from video game industry professionals
planning to attend this year's event. As the most successful year for
attendance, the Summit has reached its planned capacity for the first
time since its inception in 2002. Based on possible cancellations, the
AIAS will continue to keep a waiting list for interested attendees for
the high-level interactive entertainment event being held in Las Vegas
at the Red Rock Resort, February 6-8, 2008.
In an effort to
maintain the integrity of the high-end, intimate conference designed to
serve Academy members, the AIAS has always limited the number of
attendees. The conference has attracted a dynamic line-up of
high-profile industry leaders to discuss topics relevant to the current
state of the video game industry, developing trends, and key issues
facing publishers and business leaders.
The D.I.C.E. Summit 2008 will also play host to the 11th annual Interactive Achievement Awards®
ceremony on February 7, where industry leaders and members recognize
the individuals and products that contribute to the growth of the
interactive entertainment software business. Favored comedian, actor
and proud game enthusiast, Jay Mohr will return for his third year to
host the award festivities.
**Registration for the Interactive
Achievement Awards ceremony is still open and available; this includes
the sponsored Game Invasion Pre-Party in the Cherry Nightclub and the
COX Cosmic Bowling post-party, both located at the Red Rock Resort. To
register for the awards ceremony only, please visit: https://www.register123.com/event/profile/form/index.cfm?PKformID=0x4425116c65.
The Interactive Achievement Awards can be viewed live for the first time via webcast on GameSpot (www.gamespot.com)
and Comcast HD Video on Demand. This gives game enthusiasts worldwide
the opportunity to experience the excitement first-hand as the coveted
Interactive Achievement Awards are presented to the geniuses and giants
behind the most popular video games of the year.
