SCEA Celebrates Eight Years of X Games Sponsorship to Bring the PlayStation Brand and Action Sports to Fans Nationwide

Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) today announced its renewed sponsorship of ESPN's X Games 13, demonstrating the company's continued commitment to action sports. The X Games, which is the premier action sports event featuring athletes from around the globe competing in events such as BMX Freestyle, Moto X, Skateboard, Surfing and Rally Car Racing, will be held August 2-5 simultaneously at The Home Depot Center and the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Calif.

"We are pleased to once again sponsor the ESPN X Games, said Donna Armentor, senior promotions manager, SCEA "Our sponsorship with ESPN reinforces our already dominant presence within the action sports market and provides us with another excellent opportunity to promote the PlayStation brand to our target audiences."

Fans attending X Games 13 can visit the award-winning PlayStation Experience truck at The Home Depot Center to sample PlayStation products first hand including the latest software titles for PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3), PlayStation 2 and PSP (PlayStation Portable). The 77-foot mobile videogame arcade features a PS3 gaming area with a 52-inch LCD screen and plush leather chairs. Even athletes can get into the action with interactive kiosks in the athlete lounges, where they can fine-tune their eye-hand coordination before entering the spotlight. These PlayStation attractions will feature the latest and soon to be released titles including: Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Folklore MotorStorm, Parrapa The Rapper and SingStar Pop.

"ESPN has been proud to welcome PlayStation as part of the X Games for eight events," said Rick Alessandri, Managing Director, X Games Franchise. "As the X Games and PlayStation appeal to the younger audiences, we couldn't be happier with this partnership and look forward to future events with them."
