NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. announced today that "The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean" will be arriving on the PSP
system in January 2007.
The third iteration of the hit RPG series will
embark players on an entirely new journey in a vast world with
beautifully illustrated characters. Crafted by the same legendary
studio that brought you "Ys" and "Brandish", "The Legend of Heroes III:
Song of the Ocean" stands to deliver an exciting on-the-go RPG
experience for all PSP system owners.
"The Legend of Heroes
series is regarded as a classic RPG franchise and we're very pleased to
bring the next entry in the series to the PSP system," said Naruo
Uchida, NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc.'s Vice President. "With Nihon
Falcom at the head of development, a studio that has brought players
timeless classics like “Ys', we are sure RPG fans everywhere will be
pleased with this unique handheld experience. While the game is set in
the fantastic world familiar to fans of the first two Legend of Heroes
games, it will feature a brand new adventure and standalone storyline.
Therefore, even RPG fans new to the series will immediately be able to
pick up and enjoy the game."
A standalone story set in the rich
universe of The Legend of Heroes series, "The Legend of Heroes III:
Song of the Ocean" has players take on the role of Forte, a young
musician living in the dark Numeros Empire who sets off on an adventure
that could determine the fate of the world. With over 50 hours of
gameplay, players take Forte and his group of wandering musicians on a
journey to discover a long-forgotten song of mysterious power left
behind by a legendary composer. The 100 unique illustrated characters
bring the adventure to life and the familiar RPG gameplay lets anyone
with a PSP system become a hero. With a unique pet system and the
ability to save anywhere, "The Legend of Heroes III: Song of the Ocean"
stands to deliver a classic RPG experience in January 2007.
