Video Game Competition To Showcase Top Players From North and South America
web2zone announced today it has been selected by Blizzard
Entertainment to host the Warcraft III Season 4 Americas regional
qualifier on November 11, 2006 at its flagship cyber center in New York
City.
"web2zone is honored to be one of only three global venues
to host a regional event for Blizzard this season," said Ed Tomasi,
web2zone's director of marketing. "I can think of no better setting
than our award-winning cyber center to host such an exciting event. We
look forward to hosting so many of the great players and fans of
Warcraft III."
"Blizzard selected web2zone because of its
expertise in hosting and managing high-quality gaming events," said
Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "With
so many talented competitors and a great venue lined up for the North
and South American qualifier, this Warcraft III ladder season promises
to be an exciting experience for everyone involved."
This is
Blizzard's fourth edition of the Battle.net Warcraft III ladder
seasons. With the start of Season 4, Blizzard will be using three new
ladders, each of which will include 100-150 players. A large portion of
these players will be invited by Blizzard to participate, based on
their previous tournament success and also on their current standing in
this season's ladder. Season 4 will last approximately two months, and
upon completion, Blizzard will arrange for the top players from each
ladder to participate in one of three live regional qualifiers located
around the world, including the Americas regional qualifier at web2zone
in New York City. Those who succeed in the regional qualifiers will
then go head-to-head in the global finals.
