Seven Deadly Sins... and eight deadly levels... as Konami's PSP action-packed sequel arrives
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced that October will see
the release of Rengoku II: The Stairway to H.E.A.V.E.N. “ a sequel to
its PSP action title.
A sequel to Rengoku: The Tower of
Purgatory, the sequel expands upon the first game's fast-paced action
and incredible replay value, adding more than 300 unique weapon
combinations, and all-new level designs and multiplayer functionality.
Set
in a dark and foreboding tower, Rengoku II: The Stairway to
H.E.A.V.E.N. runs parallel to the events of the first game as players
assume the role of A.D.A.M., a battle android trapped in a mysterious
tower filled with fearsome enemies. A.D.A.M's prison spans eight
floors, with the first seven levels corresponding to each of the
original Seven Deadly Sins, and A.D.A.M. must purge each of the
mechanical scourge hosted within before moving on.
As players
progress through the tower's uniquely designed floors, they will gain
access to a high-tech arsenal of firearms, explosives and melee weapons
necessary to defeat the hordes of enemies locked in with them.
Similarly, by picking up rare and unique items from fallen enemies,
players can access more than 300 unique weapon combinations,
strategically choosing different armaments to eradicate their
adversaries.
With character designs by renowned visualist Jun
Suemi, Rengoku II: The Stairway to H.E.A.V.E.N. features breathtaking
graphics that immerse the player in the bleak, industrial world that
A.D.A.M. has sworn to protect while providing visual clues of where the
next battle will take place.
Boasting key new multiplayer modes,
Rengoku II: The Stairway to H.E.A.V.E.N. allows up to four players to
engage in competitive combat through the PSP ad-hoc wireless system.
Players can also wirelessly share portions of the game with other PSP
owners to compete against friends that do not own the game.
Downloadable content including maps, weapons and items will be also
made available though the PSP infrastructure mode, letting players
continue A.D.A.M.'s quest in new environments with additional equipment.
