Adds multi-player game capabilities and hosting to new Game Development platform.
TrayGames, the world's only 100% multi-player game network for "pick up
and play" games has announced they will support games developed on the
Microsoft XNA Framework.
"This is an exciting time for us." said
TrayGames CEO Joe Pantuso, "When we founded TrayGames over three years
ago we made a risky decision to build everything on the technologies
that now underpin XNA. In hindsight we've made an excellent choice and
I'm very pleased to have a strong head-start in this space."
The
recently announced XNA Framework makes game development much faster and
easier than it has ever been. Professional results can be achieved with
smaller teams or even by individuals. However the XNA Framework does
not offer any multi-player or network play features.
"At
TrayGames we've built this huge infrastructure for hosting multi-player
games that translates directly into support for multi-player games
built with XNA. Developers can start using our SDK with their managed
code games today, and we'll be offering XNA specific features with the
release of the XNA Express product this holiday season."
The
TrayGames system offers developers of multi-player games the simplicity
of using managed code, and great features like automatic installation
and updates, player profile data, automatic score laddering and
SkillRank.
