EA's Newest Baseball Game Franchise Heads Out on the "Road to Omaha"

Electronic Arts announced today that MVP 06 NCAA Baseball, the first-ever college baseball videogame, has shipped to retailers under the EA SPORTS™ brand. Produced by EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C., MVP 06 NCAA Baseball is the latest offering from the makers of the critically acclaimed MVP Baseball™ franchise and celebrates everything that makes NCAA baseball unique – aluminum bats, dugout clearing homeruns, relentless hustle and stadiums filled with passionate fans and school spirit.

From the same developers that have made the MVP franchise a hit, MVP 06 NCAA Baseball has an all-new Load and Fire Batting system that intuitively emulates stepping up to the plate. The game is the first EA SPORTS game to implement ESPN real-time features including an ESPN ticker and live ESPN Sportscenter radio updates. With 128 of the nation’s top teams, 19 authentic stadiums and a deep college-specific Dynasty Mode™, users can now slug it out on the “Road to Omaha®” with baseball’s brightest young stars.

“Playing to earn a National Championship for the University of Texas was one of the greatest moments of my life; Needless to say, I’m still really nostalgic about it and this is a great way for me to re-live it again and again,” said David Maroul, 2005 College World Series MVP and MVP 06 NCAA Baseball Cover Athlete. “I’ve been waiting for a game like this to come out for a long time. I just can't believe how realistic the game is.

Complete with an engaging visual presentation and ESPN’s Mike Patrick and former Stanford All-American Kyle Peterson calling the action, MVP 06 NCAA Baseball also features an all-new Custom Ballpark feature, a rich Create-a-Player option and new online* features for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Xbox Live®.

MVP 06 NCAA Baseball, which joins NCAA Football and NCAA March Madness in the EA SPORTS family of popular NCAA-licensed properties, is available on the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. The game is rated "E" (Everyone) by the ESRB with a MSRP of $29.99.The official game website is http://www.mvp06ncaabaseball.com/.
