With New Cooperative Game Play and a Major Marketing Campaign, THQ's Tak Franchise is Destined for New Heights
THQ Inc. and Nickelodeon today announced Tak: The Great Juju Challenge for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, Xbox videogame system from Microsoft, and Nintendo's GameCube, Game Boy Advance and DS videogame systems has shipped to retail outlets throughout North America. Following the previously released Tak and the Power of Juju and Tak 2: The Staff of Dreams, Tak: The Great Juju Challenge marks the third product to be released under THQ and Nickelodeon's agreement to create new cross-media intellectual properties for initial release in the videogame space with the express intent of migrating the properties to other entertainment media.

The launch of Tak: The Great Juju Challenge will be supported by a major marketing campaign that will include:

- Retail promotions with all major retailers
- Game trailer promoted on millions of Paramount Home Entertainment videos and THQ/Nickelodeon videogames
- Exclusive Tak minigame and downloadables hosted by Nick.com
- Console-specific promotions with Sony, Nintendo and Xbox, including demo discs, in-store game kiosks, and dedicated first party mini-sites

About Tak: The Great Juju Challenge
Tak: The Great Juju Challenge is an innovative, cooperative videogame that combines unique puzzles, time-based strategies, and a robust combat system. The top teams from across the world have come to compete in The Great Juju Challenge and representing the Pupanunu tribe are Tak and Lok who will face great adversity in the form of Jujus, wild animals and menacing new tribes. Featuring 1-2 player cooperative game play for the first time, players will have to use all their skills to win this race against the toughest competitors and receive the grandest reward ever given by the Great Jujus. While competing, they'll run into new enemies, such as The Rokkers, but will also be able to utilize new shaman upgrades and bonus "blessings" to customize Tak and Lok with new spells and abilities. In addition, players will be able to utilize animal disguises, with this game marking the return of Tak's chicken suit, along with the introduction of a Lok's lobster suit.
Tak: The Great Juju Challenge will also be part of THQ's new "Cross Save" program, which gives consumers access to new content for added value. In the upcoming portfolio of THQ's Nickelodeon videogames, players who own more than one of the titles featured in this program will be able to experience expanded game play elements and special features.
