Great Pilots of the Pacific Emerge in Intense World War II Dogfighting Epic
Today Ubisoft, one of the world's leading video game publishers, announced that it has signed an exclusive deal with Red Mile Entertainment to publish and distribute the Heroes of the Pacific video game in North America for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC. Heroes of the Pacific is a dramatic World War II aerial combat-action game developed by IR Gurus of Australia. Heroes of the Pacific will be available September 28, 2005, for consoles and in October 2005 for the PC.
Heroes of the Pacific begins on December 7, 1941, with the attack on Pearl Harbor and lets the player participate in the most memorable battles of the Pacific campaign including Wake Island, Midway and the Coral Sea. For the first time players will experience the epic scope of the battles, placing hundreds of planes on the screen in a single confrontation.
Heroes of the Pacific features six game modes and more than 35 upgradeable WWII aircraft, a compelling story through the war, and arcade and professional controls, as well as a workshop to customize the plane's weapon loadout and plane setup.
"Ubisoft is pleased to bring gamers the intense dogfighting experience of Heroes of the Pacific," said James Regan, director of new business development at Ubisoft. "The realistic and historical environments recreated in this game will launch players into the action-packed skies of the Pacific as if they were part of history themselves."
Heroes of the Pacific carries an ESRB rating of "T" (Teen) for strong language and violence, with a suggested retail price of $49.99 for PlayStation 2 and Xbox and $39.99 for the PC.
